Little richard was Crazy.

No really.  I mean actually crazy.  have you ever looked at his eyes when he sings? Do you even know who he is?  Hmm...go look him up.  I myself don't particularly enjoy his music, but still...you must know who he is.  Okay yes.  Back to crazy...take this picture for instance.

Yup. and that was back in the day before he got all crazy weird.  yeah.  That's about it!

Oops...

No, I didn't get trapped in an earthquake or fall off a cliff, I've just been a bad blogger an neglected my peoples.

So much to talk about!  Where can I start?  Spiderman? (good) Batman? (better)  Road trip? Other road trip?  The Lizzy Bennett Diaries? (go check 'em out on youtube!)  The Olympics? (exciting!) I just don't know!  Somehow, I managed to have lost my brain again...no wait! I remember! I flushed it down the toilet the other day, when yet another kid came to me saying they threw up...oh dear.

I did have a brilliant idea...I'm going to start a new and improved blog with two of my organized friends...It'll be super duper...stay tuned for the link...I'll pass it along just as soon as I get my mind back

Sunday Speculations...

Ever noticed this while reading the Ramona and Beezus books?  The first time round, I completely sympathized with Ramona, identifying with bossy big sisters etc.  The second time round, I saw Beezus point of view as completely rational...those little children sure are nuts!

I'm scared to read it again, and find that I see eye-to-eye with thte mother...that's when I'll officially have to resign myself to getting old... :)

Zee review de la Brave..

So...I went to go see Brave the other day...and was sorta dissapointed :(  Don't get me wrong--I still love the accents, hair, characters...really everything except the plot-line and morals...
So I don't really want to give away to much if I can help it, but I have to say--the girl never really learned her lesson, the mom just learned to compromise.  It was a really sweet story idea, but an overall of maybe 6 out of 10...

Saturday speculations...

A few things brought this on...summer, a friend getting married, watching Cowboys and Aliens...( don't bash it before you see it...it was actually pretty good :)

Anywhoo, what do all of these have in common??  They all have a willingness for love.   Actually I was thinking about this last night during the movie...there's this dog that follows Daniel Craig and his companions throughout an entire alien invasion, even into danger; at on point someone commented "That dog is so stupid...he loves everyone."

But why is that stupid?  why can't we all be open and trusting?? Wouldn't the world be a better place??

Go try it...love the next person who drives you insane...ask God to see in  him what He sees in him...it might just work!

pictures of the doctors!

So, being a (rather lazy) wimp, I'm only posting pictures of my two favorite doctors :)

The eleventh doctor...played by David Tennant!  He's a bit cookoo, but that's why everyone loved him...I suggest starting on his season...very entertaining, and it will catch you up on what you need.

And Matt Smith.  He is the overall favorite doctor, though I personally prefer David Tennant...I guess you'll just have to watch and find out :)

Hope you are now looking forward to watching!

Doctoer WHO?

Sooo...sorry about the recent blogger silence (is that what it's called?) As you might have guessed, things have been rather busy around the house and I guess I just haven't had much time to post. Any-whoo, as I have recently become hooked on the TV show Doctor Who I thought I'd give him a post...
The storyline: Doctor who is the last of his kind, a timelord traveling through space and time.  Every few seasons he changes his body, but keeps all the information of his previous selves.  Each time he regenerates (or so we'll call it) his time machine (oh yeah, he's a time traveler...) changes and he gets a new companion (a human who accompanies him on his adventures).
I don't know how interesting that sounds to you, but as you might have noticed, I am not the best summarizer in the world.  Really it's super interesting (don't look at me like that, it is).  Basically it's him going on (usually) rather spooky adventures, a couple of which will scare the...scarableness...out of you.

I suggest starting at the beginning of David Tennant's seasons--he's the eleventh doctor (there will be thirteen total)...that was when it started to get really good--before that it was a little awful and cheesy :)

Pictures to follow!!

RIP Carmineta Postigo Piiq

A few hours ago Carmi passed away in her coma to go join the Lord eternally.  What happened is really a miracle, as when she was born, the doctors told her parents she would never make it past three years.  Carmi, the eldest of 16 ,lived to the age of 22.  God planned it so that her enire extended family would be present as they had all flown in for their anual 5 year meeting.

Carmi, this past year

Prayers are still appreciated and encouraged.
Rae

Prayers please!

An old friend went into heart surgery the other day to have her pacemaker changed (bad hearts run in the family) and halfway through, something went wrong and she started to bleed.   She recently went into a severe come and is being given only a few hours to live.  Carmi is only 22, and already leaving to meet Jesus face-to-face.  Prayers for a peaceful end and a chance tobe forever with her creator would be greatly appreciated.

Out of Sight, Out of Time

Yep...an honest-to-goodness book review!  When was the last time I did one of those, huh?

I think i've posted about the Gallagher Girl series before, but the fifth installment of the series has just ariived, so I figured you might want to hear my thoughts.

To all you newcomers, the Gallagher Girl series is a set of books about an all girls academy...sounds boring?  Exept that the academy just happens to be a spy school.  Yup.  As in SPY school.  Right??  Any-whoo, so the stories revolve mainly around Cammie Morgan as she is the daughter of the Headmistress and all, but it also contains her rommates and bff's Liz, supergenius extrordinare, Bex (or Elizabeth if you're mad at her) the crazy adventerous of the trio plus one, and Macey, multi-millionare (billionare?) who's all about fashion, boys and, oh yeah, spying.  not to mention the cutie next door, Josh, and guy-spy Zach Goodman (residant hottie) along with his (is it possible?) even hotter teacher Joe Soloman, aks "Double-oh-hottie"  (No I am not making this up :) Overall, a light, but exciting read that once yoyu start you won't be able to put it down.

                                                       Now. To the book itself...

Okay, so that was longer than I was hoping, but basically Spy school, and it's all following them on theor adventueres.. Well this one was sorta different.  First off, Cammie doesn't remember the past three months of her life for most of the book, and instead of spending all her time at school, she actually leaves to go. Elsewhere.  The mystery of her dad is...resolved, and she and her guy-spy's relationship sort of solitifiees. Sort of.

Overall, it was pretty good, though it did seem she was mainly trying to set up a sequel and she did leave a few questions unanswered, hopefully to be resolved by the end of her series.  I'd give it a B+/A-

Let me know what you thougth about the books and my reviewing!

Monday Musings...

Is it okay to drool over some guy you've never met who doesn't know you exsist???

I decided to stay away from crushing on people I actually know (cause y'all know how easy that is...), and fantasize over a beautiful Irish fellow (surely you know who I'm talking about....that's right, it's Tristan Macmanus!!!...yup.  go look him up.  NOW)  I figure this way I can avoid any more crappy relationships for a while??

So tell me.  I truly want to know...is this bad?

Memorial Day

Today we commemorate the deaths of all the brave soldiers who have died protecting us, and praying for their souls and those of their family and friends.  this was posted at a high school near mine, and I thought I should share it with all of you.

Whitney Houston's death, what a sad thing, it was the direct result of very unwise life choices. It dominates the news.
Charlie Sheen is 45 and his story is all over the news because he is a substance abuser, an adulterer, sexually promiscuous and obnoxious.
Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news because she is a celebrity drug addict and thief.
Something as frivolous as Kim Kardashian's stupid wedding (and short-live marriage) was shoved down our throats, while...

Justin Allen, 23
Brett Linley, 29
Matthew Weikert, 29
Justus Bartett, 27
Dave Santos, 21
Jesse Reed, 26
Matthew Johnson, 21
Zachary Fischer, 24
Brandon King, 23
Christopher Goeke, 24
and Sheldon Tate, 27...

Are all Marines that gave their lives last month for you. There is no media for them, not even a mention of their names. Honor them by sharing this with other freedom-loving Americans. God Bless you, Rest in Peace, and THANK YOU TROOPS!
Freedom isn't free, but the U.S. Marines will pay approximately 95% of your debt for you.
Now I know today isn't just about the Marines, but also about all the others fighting for us.  Two of my guy-friends have just enlisted for the Navy Seals, and all over the world others are doing the same.
So just one small request to all you people out there:PRAY!
God Bless America,
~Rae

The Avengers

So I know it's a little late (I mean, I actually saw Avengers two weeks ago...), but I have a big urge to post on...the Avengers! (surprised you there, didn't I?)

As I said, I saw it a few weeks ago when it first came out, so memories aren't quite as clear as I'd like, but I believe my overall sense was WOW!  First of all, I have admit that, yes, I am one of those die hard Tom Hiddleston, but I even enjoyed the parts that he wasn't in too :)

The plot: A group of superheroes is collected to fight the evil (and wonderful) Loki who is coming to dominate the Earth...unfortunately the team can't get along. Will they be able to conquer their differences to fight evil in the World? (Sorry--that's probably the most unappealing sounding movie plot in the World, but actually it was super good)

The Villain:

Loki, "King of Asgard", and consequently...the bad guy.

 The Avengers:
His brother Thor (also a hottie :)

Iron Man of the snarky comebacks and awesome suit...also a hottie...i think I'm starting to see a pattern here... :) oh yeah--and he actually was looking out for someone besides himself which was awesome!

Black Widow.  that's right girl--stick out you chest as much as possible...sorry, I guess I'm just a little judgemental...I am a girl after all :)  She was the general kick-butt girl that every movie has to have to hit it big in the box offices...

Dr. Bruce Banner...aka "the other guy" aka HULK.  Mark Ruffalo was really sweet and the animation was pretty good...

from this...to this
Hawkeye with his super bow and arrow.  Here's where we start heading downhill looks-wise...or maybe I'm just spoiled looking at all the previous hunkie-poo's :)

Captain America...I guess he's cute, he's just so...good? I don't know...he was actually fine, don't get me wrong...he's just sorta "holier than thou-ish"

The Sidekick peoples:

Nick Fury...I don't especially feel either way about this guy...I guess he's epic and all...

Agent Phil Coulsen...yes he even gets a first name in this one *SPOILER* RIP Agent Coulsen, ...superhero flicks won't be the same without you... *sniff, sniff*

All in all, I really enjoyed it...no sappy "bad guy stole my girfreind, so now i must destroy the earth ine exchange for getting her back" good actors were present, and fun dialouge...plus Iron Man proves himself to be a real man(!)

8.5 stars,
~Rae

New Miraball trophy winner...

Yes, it's true.  Donald Driver, football supreme, winner of (i think) two superbowls won dancing with the stars, enabling then to take home the Mirror ball trophy...pretty impressive huh?  Though personally I thought Katharine and Mark should have won, Donald and Peta would have been my next hope...Congrats Donald and Peta!

Lots of stuff...please be patient!

First off...I'm done with both my shows!! I was in two different plays, one right after another, meaning TWO TECH WEEKS IN A ROW! And now it's over...

On a totally different note...

Some songs I recently found that I enjoy...
What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction...don't worry--I'm not a creepy fan of theirs that pays $100,000 for a half eaten piece of their toast...I just like this one some.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJO3ROT-A4E&ob=av2e

Conquest by White Stripes...I think it's really cool :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0s41oN1M_o

Angel by Shaggy...I just heard this on the radio and it cracked mu up...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j_HYMUakpk

Love Sick by the Lovable Rouges...they wrote and preformed this song on BGT and made it all the way to the finals...they are already working on their first album!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7KHhLniCzw

Two new musical artist I recently discovered...Peter Hollis and Lindsay Sterling...Peter sings and Lindsay plays violin...they are definitely worth looking up! You can find them on youtube and iTunes...

This post is getting a bit long for my tastes, so I'm splitting it up into two different ones...stay tuned!

The 1950's in all it's glory

Not too long ago, I was at a themed party where everyone came dressed up as a character from the Jane Austen era, and we all ate "tea and crumpets" (not tea and strumpets as my sister used to say).  one of my friends mentioned that her favorite era was the Victorian one, and my first thought was "heck no, mine's the fifties!".  A friend later told me that usually those two eras don't appear in the same sentence, but regardless of this probably true fact, what I said still goes. Apparently, not many people my age share my views on this, but I would still like to shoot out a post in honor of the fifties...

The music...so sweet and simple, my favorite being a song by the times titled "So Much in Love"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7cnFadY9S4&feature=related
(okay, this was '63, was it was 50's inspired)

50's styles...so cute

innocence...everyone was just so...innocent.  why can't we go back to a purer way of life??

typewriters...I don't know if these are really 50's, but I connect the two in my mind

drive in movies...so cute!

50's diners...i want to work at one of these...cool cars, roller blade waitresses, jukeboxes

sock-hops...i want to go to one of these

I couldn't find a good picture, but this is cute too :)

And last, but definitely not least, some of the beautiful faces of the fifties...

I hope you at least have a slight intrest in the ffties, and if not...I tried!

Yes, celebrities need their special toilet paper...

I am siting here reveling in the pure strangeness of celebrities right now, wondering how someone could actually stock up his numerous homes with black toilet paper costing right around $15.00 a roll.  Yes, I do love watching Simon Cowell spew his ridiculousness on Britain's Got Talent, and usually I don't keep up on celebrity gossip (to many "shocking" scandals, which are total baloney) but this cracked me up so much I had to share it with all of you. In the words of some Simon Cowell cynic "let’s hope his butt is softer and cleaner than a baby’s bottom for that price!"

the ridiculous judge                                               The even more ridiculous toilet paper

scatterbrained Sundays...

Just a random post full of random stuff...

this past month or so I've decided I do like country music after all...I always thought it was kind of stupid and not worth my time, but recently I've taken to listening to it while I do the dishes...it's easy to listen to and is usually pretty sweet.  One of my new favorites is called "Give me that Girl" adn it's basically about how he loves his girl even when she's not all "gussied up" :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40tNQRsIdvI

Still missing Val and Sherri, hoping that Tristan and Gladis aren't the next ones gone

Lovin' polyvore...basically, you take all your dream clothes/people/whatever and make a little collage thing. (see attached link for my favorite so far...) http://www.polyvore.com/hooray_for_fall/set?id=37354333

sittin' here wondering WHO PUT ALL THE TOOTHPASTE ON THE TOILET SEAT?!?
...I'm going to take an educated guess and say my little three-year-old brother...
Why?
a) because he doesn't like brushing his teeth and this way he doesn't have to tonight
b) he's a boy
c) he's three
d) did I mentiong he's a three-year-old boy???
than again, my then 19 year-old sister did put a peach pit down the toilet just to see what would happen, so you never know...

~Rae

I warned you this would be random!

October Baby

Just went to go see it last night...overall I thought it was quite good, though at times I wanted to yell at the girl a little bit...I think I'm just not the most patient of people :)

A story of forgiveness and love while bringing in the matter of abortion...all WITHOUT BEING PREACHY!! (this makes me happy because even though I'm a faithful Catholic it's always hard for me to sit through one of those in your face holy films...)

One thing that really stuck out to me: at one point, the main girl is talking to a nurse about a failed abortion, and the nurse mentions how she was always told that the baby wasn't a baby, but just a blob of tissue, but when she saw that baby come out "I didn't see no tissue. I just saw the face of a child".  **yes, that was a little vague, but I'm trying not to give away anything to important...

Overall, it was a really a good movie (and they stuck in an itty-bitty-bit  of romance for all you people that need a guy in your movies) and I highly suggest GO SEE IT!  The more  money this movie makes in theatres, the more good movies will come out this year.

Oh yes, and the person behind us started to have a seizure in the middle of the film...she was okay, but it certainly added some drama to the night...

In mournng

My official second favorite couple from Dancing with the Stars got kicked off the show on Monday...we'll miss you Sherri and Val!

She never fails to get me laughing, and he's pretty awesome too...

~Rae

So Happy

Some things that have made me smile this past week-ish...hope they do the same for you!
.Seeing one of my great friends entering the Catholic Church this Easter vigil had me grinning like an idiot :)

.The Gallaher Girls series...just some cute distraction from work and work and work!  Four girls attending a spy academy together...four cute, light books to get you through a stressful week.

Sweet and cheesy...perfect for de-stressing

.Tristan MacManus on DWTS...it's rock week on Dancing with the Stars and Tristan goes into his dance wearing a punk outfit...with coattails!

I can't find a picture of it, but this seems to be his official DWTS pic for this year...

.Dreaming of a pipe like Gandalf's...it's just that cool :)

one can always dream... :)

.Taylor Swift...I'm not always a big fan of her music, but these past couple weeks I've been listening to her new-ish CC Speak now, and am being pleasantly surprised...

go get it out from your library...it's worth hearing!

. DISCO!  So much fun :)

yes, that IS a supremely awesome disco ball snitch...I love google images :)
